We don’t know about you but man, we sure do enjoy a good scare. What is it about being scared that keeps you coming back for more? It’s so ridiculous but we love it. Is it really just the adrenaline? Watching your friends almost cry out of fear? Maybe it’s seeing how creative the owners of the haunted houses can get? Whatever it may be, we have compiled a list of 10 Haunted Houses, Mazes, Forests for your seasonal thrill fill. 

1. THE HAUNTED RIVER FLOAT – WAYNESVILLE, MO

Reserve your camping spot for weekends in the month of September! Just 1.5 hours away from Springfield, this haunted float is worth the drive. For one price you get to float down a pitch black river with nothing but paddles, walk through 3 haunted landscapes, and then spend the night! What.

Here’s your night in a nut shell:

• Haunted Hayride: Ride to the put-in location

• Haunted River Float: 1/2 mile float down the Gasconade River full of spooky creatures in an 8-man raft with no guide.

• Haunted Forest, Corn Maze, Haunted House

• Primitive Tent Camping, Actors Visit Camp Site (to scare or photo-op!)

There is one free night of tent camping included in your price. Bring your own tent. More information about camping here. The first float begins at sundown; there are no guides, no coolers, no glass on the river. For safety reasons, no children under 8yrs. Any person under 18 must be accompanied by parent.

2. BRANSON’S HAUNTED SCREAMPARK – BRANSON, MO

One of the most notorious haunted attractions in the Ozarks! Running from now until November 3rd, you and your friends can choose from 9 frightening themed attractions to enjoy all Halloween season long!

DURING THE DAY

3. BRANSON HAUNTED HILLS – BRANSON, MO

The Branson Haunted Hills is terrifying and the attention to frightening detail is on point. This attraction might take the cake for best haunted house for families of all ages because parents are able to give their children “magic wands” to scare away the scary monsters! This attraction was just voted #4 in the state of Missouri as “Must See Haunts” for 2018 by the Scare Factor.

4. HAUNTED FOREST – PLEASANT HOPE, MO

Just 10 minutes North of Springfield, MO…this hidden gem will have your entire group shaking in their boots!

The Haunted Forest gives fear a whole new meaning with its 1/2 mile winding paths through a swamp, barn, garden, cemetary and bio hazard areas. 5. HOTEL OF TERROR – SPRINGFIELD, MO

The historic 4 story haunted house has been scaring residents since 1978. While most haunted houses use only animatronics, this hotel employs over 30 actors to make sure every victim turning a corner gets a real scare!

Fun for all ages, this house offers a themed Kids Night that won’t be too scary and will have a fun scavenger hunt throughout. As always, in order to exit the Hotel of Terror, one must gather enough courage to slide down the hotel’s 96 foot slide!

This year, Hotel of Terror and Dungeons of Doom has teamed up with a FREE ride back and forth between the two haunts in either the hay ride or their hearse! Dungeons of Doom is brand new to Springfield. This old factory was turned into a haunting area including scare actors, props, sound effects, lighting, and more! 8. MONSTER CORN MAZE – CABOOL, MO

The creatures who once had infested only the corn have consumed an entire village that has grown within the infected woods.
